The next step is to log in to YouTube using the email address that you created on Google. Visit YouTube.com and click on the log-in button to make a YouTube channel.

2. Navigate to the Customize Channel Page

Once you log in to YouTube, you need to customize your channel. To do that, head to the dashboard and click Customize channel.

Once you click on the Customize channel button, a new page will open. At the top of the page, you will see three options: Layout, Branding, and Basic info.

5. Upload branding elements to your channel

  • your profile picture
  • channel art (banner image at the top of the page)
  • and watermark on your videos.

1. Profile Picture

Profile picture helps youtube users to recognize your channel. it the picture that show under the video with the play button. Add a profile picture to tell your user who is behind the video creation. The right dimension for profile picutre is 98 x 98 pixels.

2. Banner Image

Next, you need to a add a banner image to your channel. A banner image is the image that is being shown on the top of the page of your channel. A banner image provides  you an opportunity to show case what you channel is about. 

3. Video Watermark

You may have seen a logo at the bottom right corner of a video. that logo is called watermark that is being shown on your video to tell your users about the channel. The correct dimension for logo that youtube allows is 150 x150 pixels. 

6. Customize your more advanced layout options

Next, you can customize the layout options of your YouTube channel. This is an advanced customization option, and you can access it by clicking on the Layout tab.

On this page, you can create up to twelve sections to present your content on the channel page. You can also use the featured section to show your content how you want.

7. Add Videos and Optimize Them for Search

Now, you are ready to upload video content to your YouTube channel. To upload a video, click the Create button at the top right corner and follow the prompts.

Once you add videos, you will want to optimize them for search. To maximize the reach of  your video content, you need to do the following things:

  • Add Title 
  • Add Description 
  • Add Tags
  • Add Categories

1. Title

Your video’s title plays a vital role in its discoverability. Before you create a video, you need to do keyword research. Once you have found a topic related to that keyword, include your targeted keyword in the title of the video. This will help users find your information.

One important thing to remember is that your video title must be related to the video’s content. Otherwise, it will negatively affect your channel’s SEO and growth.

2. Description

Next, you need to add a description of the video’s content in the description box. The primary goal of adding a description is to tell search engines and your audience about the video’s content.

Make sure to add your focus keyword in the first few lines before the Show More button because this is part of the description that people see once they click on the video.

3. Tags

Tags are meant to organize your content and could be an important factor for ranking your videos on YouTube. Tags allows your audience to find related information on your channel. use keyword in your first tag and then add related words and phrases in the rest of the tags.

4. Categories

Categories help you organize your videos into different groups. Create categories on your channel and add related content in those categories.
